Expert Soccer Coach for Kids
Eugene is currently a soccer coach at Seattle Celtic Soccer Club. He has over 7 years of experience working with children of different ages, competing in regional and national competitions. He has worked in physical education for both kids and adults for many years. He is certified with a FIFA “C” coaching license.
His philosophy: “I hope to teach the kids the fundamental techniques of the game (dribbling, passing, shooting, defending, movement) through the context of good decision making. Some coaches will say that mastering control of the ball and the ability to dribble by defenders is essential for the youngest ages. While this is very important for players to have, it does no good if the player is dribbling into 2 or 3 defenders and losing the ball. Throughout the season, I will be putting an emphasis on players using their eyes to recognize a situation, and acting according to what they see”.
